Shortly after participating in the destruction of poppy fields for the benefit of journalists ferried in as witnesses, soldiers in Burma's northern Shan State await further orders. Much of Shan State is under control of the United Wa State Army, one of the worlds wealthiest and best armed narcotics armies.
